How a corrected CV can actually help us heal

Updated: May 31, 2020

Following on from my previous blog on "Can't bear writing your CV", we turn here to how a corrected CV helps equalise any mismatch so that what’s on paper is reflective of the person themselves at the job interview. It also makes the selling of one's skills and qualities much more easy and less inflating through using stories to deflect from what’s there in reality and truth.

Our CV indicates the level of our personal livingness or where we're at in life, and ultimately our level of “life & work fitness” -

The way and quality we live is the way and quality we work.

CVs provide an inescapable landscape as to how we are doing in whole life and offer a way to deal with any glitches along the way.

They also allow us to step up in our quality and way of living i.e. our livingness through seeing the deeper commitment to ourselves as being crucial and which can often see a person step up or advance in their work responsibilities as a result too.

So, want to step up at work? Then step up your quality of livingness!

CVs look at, explore and deal with the exact quality of our livingness - the personal together with the professional - so yes it can be at times confronting but importantly it’s really a very healing process that offers a continual process of us evolving.

CVs and writing them ask us to ascertain - are we keeping up in ourselves with life/work to feel naturally vital and full in all areas, or not and thus subject to momentary highs and lows, depletion, drain, exhaustion, anxiousness, stressed out and emotional?

CVs are great as they highlight in each job cycle (period of employment) the exact quality of the hold we have of ourselves in our careers, in life at home too. So when we hold work & life as ‘one-life’ by virtue of the quality that’s inextricably knitting it all together ... we understand the times that what is occurring at work is also occurring in some capacity in our personal lives too.

So when we work on our CV, essentially we are actually and unavoidably equally working on our whole life and our livingness and not just the particular cycle of employment – after all Curriculum Vitae is Latin for – the story of one’s (whole) life.
